Excellence celebrated at the 25th North Devon Manufacturing Awards
On Thursday, 10 October 2024, the Barnstaple Hotel hosted the 25th North Devon Manufacturing Awards, celebrating the exceptional talent and innovation within the region's diverse manufacturing sector. The event, organised by the North Devon Manufacturers Association (NDMA) and led by Chairman Tim Puttock, brought together representatives from various industries, including electronics, precision engineering, pharmaceuticals, and textiles.
Tim Puttock emphasised the significance of this celebration, stating:
This has been a true celebration of the success of employees and employers and what they contribute to the area.
The evening was filled with accolades, with CMTG proudly taking home the prestigious Manufacturer of the Year award. This top honour recognised CMTG’s commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration over the past 18 months.
The award-winning project, developed in partnership with the University of Bristol and Innovate UK, focused on enhancing an algorithm initially created 15 years ago to minimise aircraft vibration.
Alongside CMTG’s success, several other notable awards were presented during the evening, including the Apprentice of the Year and Environmental Project of the Year, celebrating achievements across a diverse range of industries.
The Awards not only highlighted the achievements of local businesses but also the collaborative spirit that drives innovation across North Devon’s manufacturing landscape.
CMTG, previously awarded Manufacturer of the Year in 2023, continues to be recognised for its innovative and high-quality manufacturing processes. This year’s event highlighted the region’s commitment to world-class manufacturing and technological excellence.
Peter Morrish, Customer Support Manager at CMTG, reflected on the evening's significance, stating:
