Remote Storage Interface Unit (RSIU)
The Remote Storage Interface Unit (RSIU) is designed to work with the Structural Data Recorder Set, transmitting processed flight data from the Recorder Converter to the Remote Storage Unit. Compact and efficient, it shares the same footprint as the Memory Unit and simplifies data capture for download via PCMCIA storage cards.
Description
Developed for use with the Structural Data Recorder Set, the RSIU transmits acquired data to the Remote Storage Unit to be stored on a Data Storage Card.
The RSIU mounts directly on top of the Recorder Converter in the same footprint as the Memory Unit. Data processed in the RC is transmitted to the Remote Storage Unit via the 15 Pin Connector. The data is then stored on a PCMCIA Data Storage Card for easy removal and downloading capability.
